About Us

The Feisty Redhead, also known as Julie Duvall, has lived a life of taking obstacles and turning them into triumphs and learning experiences. In 1999, Julie bought a used Subaru so rusted that you could see the road through the floor then drove to Little Rock, Arkansas on a chicken wing and a prayer with a new job offer and nowhere to live.

It is easy to say that the feisty redhead is truly a free spirit with a quirky side! Originally from Southeast Texas, she is a proud etiquette school dropout, middle child and only daughter, so you know she is a bit Texas Tough, rarely taking no for an answer and always sticking up for the underdog. Julie is proud that her first job was in a 1950’s themed diner where she wore roller skates and a 45 record in her hair.

From there she has worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, commercial high rise real estate, political non-profits and is most noted for being a Personal Executive Assistant to higher profile business and political individuals.

2013 prove to be a major defining point in her life. Within the span of five months, she had unexpectedly lost both her mother and father. Unable to work and spirit broken; her personal life began to spiral down.

As she was being foreclosed on, receiving Medicaid, and standing in food pantry lines with not enough gas to get back home at times; Local social service agencies helped her in covering utility bills and medicine to help her move forward.

Being true to her feisty self, she did not ask any of her friends or family for help during this time or even let them know that she was struggling. Seeing others next to her struggle as well for food and medical care, she knew that some people just needed an extra chance or opportunity.

If blessed, she vowed to give back as her family taught her for so many years.

A few months had passed when a friend suggested a simple part time job for a family while she continued to gather herself. It started with walking a dog; but not just any dog – a 110lb GoldenDoodle named Arnie.

For the next four plus years she grew to be the personal assistant to Arnie and his owner and considered family. As she walked Arnie one gorgeous day downtown in 2016, she met a man who wanted to pet Arnie and say hello. Little known to her, this friendly man named Michael would be the future love of her life, husband and business partner in this “Cottage Industry”. In the Spring of 2018, Arnie’s owner passed away and he left Arnie to Julie for care. Back at a professional crossroads, Feisty and Michael decided to chase the multifaceted dream of The Cottage.

If asked about her background, she will always state that she is not perfect and has made many a mistake. Julie believes if you can learn to do good works from the mistakes, then the battle to become a better person and give to others is in your favor.

So, follow this whirling dervish as she and her team make products for you to truly enjoy that provide a positive impact for others in need.

I believe that The Cottage Team will be staffed by individuals who have talents beyond bath products.
